Learning to Control Drones with a Little Help from Learning
I have always been drawn to systems that have to balance precision and motion. Drones are a perfect example: they are fast, unstable, and full of opportunities for good control design. My early work in this area made me appreciate how much of robotics is really about making complicated dynamics feel simple.
What excites me most is the idea that a controller is not just a mathematical trick. It is a way of giving a machine a sense of timing, stability, and awareness. That is why I keep returning to topics like MPC, trajectory optimization, and state estimation.
